Young police officer bravely fights drug-related criminals

PSNews - Lieutenant Nguyen Van Lap, a police officer of the General Investigation Team of the Ky Son District Police (Nghe An Province) has been known as a young, smart and brave scout, and made many achievements in the fight against crimes.

Lieutenant Nguyen Van Lap graduated from the People's Police Academy in 2015 and was posted to the General Investigation Team of the Ky Son District Police (Nghe An Province).

In the new working environment, the young scout with a great determination overcame all difficulties. Lap restlessly learned from his colleagues and built credibility in the fight against crimes.

Ky Son District, with its 192 km border, is one of Nghe An's hotspots of crimes, especially drug-related crime. Drug-related criminals often take advantage of the district’s difficult terrain and various border crossings along the borderline, and collaborated with other criminals from other places to form networks of trafficking large-quantity drugs.

Recognizing this situation, Lieutenant Nguyen Van Lap and his teammates closely monitored the area and successfully cracked down on many dangerous criminal cases. 

Particularly, on March 10, he and his colleagues successfully arrested Va Pa Co suspected of transporting drugs, seized 300 synthetic drug pills and various weapons such as grenades, guns.

Earlier on June 2017, Lieutenant Nguyen Van Lap and his colleagues successfully captured suspect Lo Van Nang, aged 34, residing in Khe Tang village, Chieu Luu Commune, Ky Son District for illegal purchase and trade of drugs. At that time, suspect Nang was suffering AIDS.

In addition to well performing his professional duties, Lieutenant Nguyen Van Lap also actively participates in other cultural and sport activities of the unit and social charitable programs.

Together with other young officers of the unit, Lieutenant Lap has joined many voluntary activities such as helping people overcome consequences of floods, including repairing houses of local people and cleaning roads, as well as distributing free porridge to poor patients in Ky Son District Hospital.

For his constant efforts and outstanding achievements in the fight against crimes, especially drug-related crime, Lieutenant Nguyen Van Lap have been awarded various Certificates of Merit by authorities at all levels.
