Youths of Public Security urged to proactively join international integration

PSNews - Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Member of Central Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security asked young public security officers and soldiers to become the vanguard in international integration.

He made the request during his speech at a meeting held on August 2 between the Public Security General Department of Politics and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to review youth work and youth movements in the first 6 months of 2017 and to make preparation for Public Security Youth Union Congresses at all levels term 2017-2022.

Mr. Le Quoc Phong, Alternate Member of the CPV Central Committee, First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, President of the Vietnam National Union of Students, and Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Nam, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics co-chaired the meeting.

The Youth Union organization of the Ministry of Public Security is currently composed of 20 subsidiary Youth Union chapters with 1,748 cells. Youth Union members of public security account for nearly 60% of the total force.

In general, members of the public security Youth Union organization always preserve and promote the traditions of the Public Security Forces while holding strong political stance and having healthy lifestyles and actively participating in building and protecting the Fatherland.

Youth movements in the Ministry of Public Security have been well implemented over the past time. Within the framework of youth movements, Youth Union chapters carried out various activities focusing on improving the quality of grassroots units, thus attracting the participation of more youth union members.

Speaking at the meeting, First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Le Quoc Phong asked the Public Security Youth Union organization to focus on building police officer  models from outstanding examples, and to promote the creativity of youth union members in performing their tasks.

Regarding the preparation of the 21th Congress of the Public Security Youth Union organization, First Secretary Phong urged the organizers to listen to youth union members' opinions so as to draft the congress's report in line with the tasks entrusted by the Public Security Central Party Committee.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh for his part highlighted the role of youth movements in the first six months of 2017, acknowledging that  many youth movements contributed to building up young public security officers’ political stance, professional qualities and virtues.

Deputy Minister Thanh also asked the Youth Union organization of Public Security to concentrate on completing its tasks of the second half of 2017, contributing to building the Public Security force as a "precious sword" as instructed by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; well carry out the campaign "Building the model of brave and humane police officer to serve the people."

Especially, the Deputy Minister stressed that public security youths must proactively join international integration, while actively improving their political will, professional knowledge, foreign language and information technology.
