Youths of Thua Thien Hue police clean up Huong river

PSNews - The Youth Union Chapter of the Thua Thien Hue police on March 17 organized an outdoor activity cleaning up the Huong river in response to the program "Green Sunday" initiated by the Provincial People's Committee.

Captain Le Viet Phuong, Secretary of the Youth Union Chapter of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police Department said that, the program "Green Sunday", launched by the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee, aims to protect a clean and green environment for both urban and rural areas of the province; and to build Thua Thien Hue to be a destination of heritages, cultural values, ecological diversity, landscapes and a high level of environmental friendliness.

In response to the program, the Youth Union Chapter of the Thua Thien Hue police has undertaken the task of cleaning up the Huong river. It has mobilized its young police officers and soldiers to collect garbage along the river.

Last Sunday, youth members of  the Thua Thien Hue police used boats to collect rubbish from Dap Da area to Da Vien bridge, Hue City.

"Every Sunday, young police officers and soldiers of the unit row boats to collect rubbish along the Huong river, particularly including plastics and other hard-to-integrate wastes. Today from 7 am to 10 am, we collected a large amount of plastic bags,” said Captain Le Viet Phuong.

Captain Le Viet Phuong also affirmed that, this meaningful activity will be carried out by the Youth Union Chapter of the Thua Thien Hue police every Sunday for a green, clean and no-litter Thua Thien Hue.
