Criminal Investigation Police Force be exemplary in upholding rule of law, facilitating development and staying close to people

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a nationwide online conference in Ha Noi on the afternoon of July 18 to review the performance of the Criminal Investigation Police Force in the first half of 2026.

Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang attended the conference and delivered a keynote address.

Delivering the opening remarks, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long stated that during the first six months of 2026, the Criminal Investigation Police Force made concerted efforts to synchronously deploy various plans and action programs, strictly adhering to the directions of the Ministry’s leadership on crime prevention and control.

As a result, crimes against social order in the first half of 2026 dropped by 14.7% compared to the same period in 2025. Most categories of crime, including many serious and dangerous offenses, were contained and reduced, while fundamental investigation activities were conducted strictly in accordance with the law.

Addressing the conference on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security’s leadership, Minister Luong Tam Quang commended the Criminal Investigation Police Force on its outstanding achievements during the first half of 2026.

Reviewing the reports presented, the Minister highly appreciated their frank and objective reflection of the operational situation and results, as well as their deep, thorough analysis of strengths, existing limitations, and root causes, thereby setting clear directions and tasks for investigating and handling crimes in the second half of 2026.

Expressing basic agreement with the orientations and tasks set out at the conference, Minister Luong Tam Quang requested the entire Criminal Investigation Police Force to strive to fulfill all assigned targets and strictly execute orders and tasks on schedule and with high quality, in the spirit of "no retreat, no delay." Implementation must be resolute and seamless, focusing on thoroughly resolving difficulties and obstacles in every case and incident.

At the same time, the Minister called for continued efforts to strengthen professional ethics and official responsibility, building a nationwide Criminal Investigation Police Force exemplary in upholding the rule of law, facilitating development, staying close to the people, and respecting the people, regarding this as an urgent task and a top priority.
