Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long works with Quang Tri Provincial Police Department

PSNews - Recently, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long chaired a working session with the Quang Tri Provincial Police Department to review its work results in the first six months of 2026 and one year of operating under the two-tier local police model.

At the working session, a representative of the Ministry of Public Security’s inspection delegation announced a draft report on the inspection results of the Quang Tri Provincial Police Department’s implementation of the assigned tasks over the past period.

According to the report, during the first six months of 2026 and after one year of implementing the two-tier local police model, the Quang Tri Provincial Police Department proactively advised local Party committees and authorities on policies and measures to ensure security and order, while synchronously deploying professional measures to safeguard political security and maintain social order and safety across the province.

The Quang Tri Provincial Police Department also well ran the two-level local police organizational model, and improved the operational efficiency of the communal-level police force, meeting its task requirements in the new situation.

Addressing the session, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements attained by the Quang Tri Provincial Police Department over the past period.

To bring into full play the achieved results, the Deputy Minister requested the Quang Tri Provincial Police Department to accelerate the implementation of assigned work targets, effectively advise local Party committees and authorities on approaches to safeguard national security and maintain social order and safety, and proactively grasp, analyze and forecast security developments in order to avoid strategic surprise under any circumstances.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long also stressed that the Quang Tri Provincial Police Department should continue renewing its thinking and working methods, improve the effectiveness of combating cybercrime, and promote the application of science, technology and digital transformation to all aspects of public security work.

The Quang Tri Provincial Police Department was also urged to proactively prevent, detect and strictly handle violations of laws, particularly youth’s acts of racing motorbikes illegally on streets and disturbing public order, effectively advise the higher authorities to step up the implementation of the National Target Program on Drug Prevention and Control, and strengthen state management of drug rehabilitation activities.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long further requested the Quang Tri Provincial Police Department to continue promoting its core role in ensuring security and order, creating a stable environment for local socio-economic development and contributing to the successful realization of national development goals toward a new era of rapid and sustainable growth.
