Strengthening security cooperation between Vietnam and Israel

General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security, on June 10 received the Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Yaron Mayer, who came to bid farewell to the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam’s leadership upon the conclusion of his term of office.

Minister Luong Tam Quang congratulated Ambassador Yaron Mayer on his successful tenure in Vietnam. He highly appreciated the Ambassador's contributions to promoting the cooperative relations between the two countries, as well as between the Ministry of Public Security and Israeli law enforcement agencies.

Minister Luong Tam Quang stated that during Ambassador Yaron Mayer's term, the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Israel have continued to make many positive strides. In the field of security and law enforcement, the two sides have effectively maintained coordination and information exchange mechanisms, supporting each other in verifying and handling cases related to citizens and organizations of each country.

Through the coordination mechanism with the Israeli Police Attaché in charge of the East Asia region, the two sides have enhanced experience sharing and officer training in the fields of cybersecurity and the prevention and combat of high-tech crimes.

Minister Luong Tam Quang proposed that the two sides continue to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, promote information sharing; and coordinate in the fight against transnational crimes, terrorism, drugs, and emerging types of crimes in the time to come.

Minister Luong Tam Quang also suggested that the Israeli side exchange views on needs and legal regulations related to extradition, the transfer of sentenced persons, and cooperation in crime prevention and combat. This will serve as a basis for the two sides to accelerate the negotiation and signing of cooperation documents between the two countries in the near future.

Ambassador Yaron Mayer respectfully expressed his gratitude to Minister Luong Tam Quang and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security for their effective support and coordination throughout his tenure in Vietnam. The Ambassador highly valued Vietnam's stable and safe environment, as well as the increasingly substantive cooperation results between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries.

The Ambassador affirmed that he will continue to pay attention to and promote cooperative relations between Israel and Vietnam in areas of mutual interest, contributing to strengthening the friendship and prosperous development of each country.
