The program was participated in by thousands of students. Students received information on five practical topics: prevention of school violence; prevention of child abuse and human trafficking; prevention of online scams; safety and escape skills; and issues related to community integration.
Through assumed situations popular with students at young ages, the legal dissemination campaign helped them recognize illegal behaviors, understand the consequences, learn how to resolve conflicts, behave toward each other in a civilized and cultural manner, use social media safely, and proactively seek support when encountering dangerous situations.
Major General Phan Manh Truong, Deputy Director of the Criminal Police Department (Ministry of Public Security), emphasized that legal education campaigns in schools aim to help students correctly understand legal regulations, identify risks, and know how to respond appropriately to each specific situation.
Preventing violations is the responsibility of not only authorities and schools but also students who should have self-awareness, law-abiding spirit, and sense of responsibility to themselves and the community.
The Deputy Director of the Criminal Police Department noted that students should build a healthy lifestyle, behave civilly, resolve disagreements with respect, saying no to any types of violence; exercise caution when receiving or sharing information on social media, avoid disclosing personal information indiscriminately, and remain vigilant against attempts at enticement or manipulation by malicious actors. Upon detecting signs of violations or encountering situations beyond their ability to handle, students should promptly inform their families, teachers, or relevant authorities for guidance, support and protection.
To create a safe and healthy school environment, close coordination is needed among the police force, the education sector, families, and society as a whole. Schools should focus on teaching ethics, lifestyle, and communication skills while families should pay due attention to their children, listen to them, and accompany them. Meanwhile, the police should proactively equip students with good legal knowledge, skills to recognize and prevent risks as well as approaches to handle emerging issues in accordance with the laws.
On this occasion, the organizers awarded dozens of scholarships to disadvantaged students, encouraging and motivating them to continue striving for good results in their studies and personal development.
