MPS reviews implementation of tasks in May

The Ministry of Public Security held a meeting to review the work results of the Public Security Forces in May, on June 2 in Hanoi.

In May 2026, public security units and agencies nationwide seriously and resolutely implemented directives of the Party Central Committee, the Government and the Ministry of Public Security, thereby continuing to firmly safeguard national security, ensure social order and safety, and effectively serving the country’s foreign affairs and socio-economic development.

Under the moderation of Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, delegates discussed a number of key issues related to security protection work, crime prevention and control and public security finance, among other matters.

Addressing the meeting, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry’s leadership, Minister Luong Tam Quang acknowledged and applauded the achievements attained by the entire Public Security Forces in May 2026.

Regarding key tasks in the coming period, the Minister emphasized that the forces should continue to proactively grasp the situation and advise the higher authorities on approaches to early handle factors affecting national security, while intensifying efforts to combat crimes and violations related to intellectual property rights and taking strong measures to control smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, environmental pollution and food safety violations.

Public security units and agencies were also requested to step up the implementation of a campaign against crimes related to gambling organization, gambling and football betting during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, while improving the effectiveness of management of public order, prevention and combat of drug-related crimes and other criminal offenses.

In addition, Minister Luong Tam Quang requested public security units and agencies to take preventative measures to ensure traffic order and safety, effectively reduce drowning incidents, fire and explosions during the summer season, particularly in crowded areas, festival venues, tourist destinations and resorts.

He also urged relevant units to accelerate the drafting of circulars for reduction, decentralization and simplification of administrative procedures within the State management sphere of the Ministry of Public Security.

Highlighting the important achievements attained by the entire Public Security Forces in May 2026, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his confidence that, with the spirit of being “Most Disciplined – Most Loyal – Closest to the People,” the Public Security Forces nationwide would continue to uphold responsibility, strive to surpass themselves and successfully fulfill all tasks entrusted by the Party, the State, the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security.
