Hanoi capital tests metro trains on overground route
The Hanoi capital on July 1 carried out a test run of its trains on the overground track under the Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station Metro project before it is officially put into operation later this year.
The six trains are put into operation on a trial basis on the line’s 8.5km long elevated section running from the Nhon Depot area in Nam Tu Liem district to Station S8 in Cau Giay district.
According to Le Trung Hieu, deputy head of the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board (MRB), the project has so far received six out of a total of 10 trains manufactured in France.
The trains are conducted by experienced drivers of the French manufacturer Alstom Company.
Approximately 73% of the project’s workload has been completed so far.
The 10 trains which will run as part of the Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station Metro project have been designed and manufactured by Alstom. The first train initially arrived on October 18, 2020.
The trains initially depart at 10:30 a.m. on July 1 from the Nhon Depot area, running through Nhon-Ho Tung Mau-Cau Giay streets.
The trains prepare to reach their destination at Station S8 in Cau Giay district.
After arriving at Station S8, the trains return to their Nhon Depot.
The trains pass through Mai Dich Station.
