Hanoi deploys 6 mobile interdisciplinary teams to control travellers

The Hanoi police have set up 6 mobile teams to patrol and check people for travelling purposes on the main streets in the city’s 12 districts.

The 6 interdisciplinary working groups started working from 3pm on August 16 in the 12 districts of Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh, Hai Ba Trung, Dong Da, Tay Ho, Long Bien, Cau Giay, Hoang Mai, Bac Tu Liem, Nam Tu Liem, Thanh Xuan and Ha Dong.

The teams work in flexible time, depending on the traffic situation of each route. More patrol is conducted on the streets with much traffic.  

Senior Colonel Nguyen Hong Ky, Vice Director of the Hanoi Municipal Police Department, said the number of people and vehicles on the streets rose in recent days, which posed more risks of COVID infection.

The patrol teams may stop people and vehicles in streets to check if they have travel permits issued by competent agencies and organizations. Since Hanoi started social distancing, the city has controlled travel of people and vehicles.

Accordingly, people go out should have travel permits and sound reasons. Those who violate the regulations will be strictly punished.
