Minister Luong Tam Quang receives RoK Ambassador

General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security, on June 10, received Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (RoK) to Vietnam, Choi Young-sam, who came to bid farewell to the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam’s leadership upon the conclusion of his term of office.

Minister Luong Tam Quang congratulated Ambassador Choi Young-sam on his successful tenure in Vietnam, highly appreciated the Ambassador's positive contributions to promoting the Vietnam - RoK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, as well as the cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and South Korean law enforcement agencies.

Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that the successful visit to RoK by General Secretary and President To Lam in August 2025 and the visit to Vietnam by the RoK President in April 2026 had continued to affirm the solid foundation of bilateral relations.

The two countries are expanding cooperation into many high-value-added fields such as infrastructure, smart cities, semiconductors, large-scale artificial intelligence data centers, and next-generation seaports.

According to Minister Luong Tam Quang, the relationship between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and RoK law enforcement agencies has always been a bright spot in the bilateral relations. Through important cooperation mechanisms such as the Vietnam - RoK Deputy Ministerial Security Dialogue, the Deputy Ministerial Police Cooperation Conference, and information exchange and cooperation mechanisms between various units, the cooperative relationship between the two sides has been increasingly consolidated and deepened.

Minister Luong Tam Quang thanked Ambassador Choi Young-sam for his active role in encouraging relevant RoK agencies to assist the Ministry of Public Security in implementing numerous meaningful cooperation projects, including Phase 3 of the "Enhancing Forensic Science Capacity for the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security" project. These cooperative activities have contributed to improving the law enforcement capacity of the People's Public Security forces in the new context.

Ambassador Choi Young-sam respectfully expressed his gratitude to Minister Luong Tam Quang and the Ministry of Public Security for consistently coordinating closely and creating favorable conditions for him to fulfill his duties in Vietnam. The Ambassador highly valued Vietnam's developmental achievements as well as the effective cooperation results between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries in recent times.

Ambassador Choi Young-sam affirmed that, regardless of his future position, he will continue to contribute to promoting the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea, particularly in the fields of security, order, and law enforcement.
