MPS holds community reintegration program

PSNews - Recently, the Police Department of Temporary Detention and Community-based Correction Management under the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Federation and the Hanoi City Police Department, organized the 2026 community reintegration program themed “Heading Toward the Dawn" in Hanoi. 

Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen attended and delivered a keynote speech at the event.

Addressing the program, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security’s leadership, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen commended and highly appreciated the organization of the event, describing it as a meaningful activity carrying profound humanitarian values.

The Deputy Minister requested relevant agencies to proactively coordinate to seriously and effectively implement regulations and coordination programs on community reintegration work, actively propose the replication of practical and effective models and initiatives in carrying out community reintegration, and widely spread the humanitarian values and fine traditions of the Vietnamese people, aiming to help ex-prisoners quickly reintegrate into the community, securing stable employment, improving their living conditions and minimizing recidivism.

He also stressed the need to bring into full play the concerted strength and encourage active participation of the entire political system and society in community reintegration work so that it can becomes a regular sense of social responsibility of authorities at all levels, sectors, social organizations, enterprises and citizens rather than a periodic movement or campaign.

Through such efforts, he noted, ex-prisoners returning to the community can overcome feelings of inferiority, regain confidence on the one hand, the community can accept them as a member and provide support for them society on the other hand, That will enable them to become exemplary and responsible citizens and make a positive contribution to their families and the community as a whole.

Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen further called on relevant agencies and enterprises to create favorable conditions for ex-prisoners through credit support policies, vocational training and job placement opportunities, while also coordinating with the local authority and relevant agencies in management and supervision of ex-prisoners, with an aim to helping them stabilize their lives, contribute to society and avoid reoffending.

At the program, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen and delegates presented gifts to several inmates.

The Organizing Committee also awarded prizes for the drawing contest “Redrawing Dreams” to winning inmates. The first prize was awarded to the painting titled “Road to Dawn,” which reflected the painter’s aspiration to rebuild his life.

Earlier on May 11, the program also launched a painting contest, sports exchanges and artistic haircut activities for inmates, creating an encouraging atmosphere that motivated them to study, self-corrections and strive for a better future.
