Police ensure security and order in Mong Duong Industrial Zone

PSNews – The Mong Duong Industrial Zone is considered as a small town inside Cam Pha City, Quang Ninh Province, home to hundreds of agencies, units, enterprises, schools, and coal mining sites. Mong Duong used to be known as a hub of crimes, particularly organized crime, crime with the use of weapons, economic crime, drug-related crime and environmental crime.

In January 2015, the Minister of Public Security issued a decision to establish the Mong Duong Industrial Zone Police Station. Over the past more than 3 years, the Police Station has obtained remarkable achievements in ensuring security and order as well as creating a favourable environment for lives and production of nearly 20,000 people living around the industrial zone.

Mong Duong Industrial Zone Police Station is in charge of ensuring security and order of an area of nearly 300 square kilometres, consisting of Mong Duong ward and 3 communes. This area is home to hundreds of companies specializing in coal mining, thermal power, mechanical engineering and construction materials that employ thousands of workers. The security and order situation used to be very complex with many complaints of local people about compensations for land losses.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Vu Hong Hau, Head of the Mong Duong Industrial Zone Police Station, under the direction of the leadership of the Cam Pha Municipal Police Department, the Police Station has mobilized the comprehensive strength of the entire community to prevent and fight crimes.

In particular, the unit signed cooperation deals in ensuring security and order with 42 local agencies, enterprises, units and schools. It also deployed police officers and soldiers to residential areas to carry out dissemination drives on laws and crime prevention for local students, officials and people.

Thanks to the cooperation deals, over the past 3 years, the unit has persuaded 260 households of Duong Huy commune to receive the compensations for their land lost to the Ha Long - Van Dong Expressway project. Local people also provided hundreds of pieces of valuable information about crimes to the police forces, helping the Mong Duong Industrial Zone Police Station quickly investigate and solve many criminal cases in the area.

The unit also coordinated with local agencies and enterprises to strengthen the state management in coal mining and trading, carried out regular inspections of coal depots and coal trading sites to detect and prevent illegal acts of coal transportation, trading and production.

Since the beginning of 2018, no illegal coal mining activity has occurred in the area.

Senior Colonel Tran Van Long, Director of the Cam Pha Provincial Police sub-Department affirmed that the signing of the cooperation deals in ensuring security and order has been a good initiative of the police station, contributing to promoting the movement "All people protecting national security" across the community while mobilizing people from all walks of life, all local agencies, enterprises, schools to participate in the prevention and fight against crimes and social evils.
