Police take measures to ensure security for Cat Linh - Ha Dong metro line

PSNews - The Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security and the Hanoi Municipal Police Department have taken measures to ensure security and traffic safety at 12 stations of the Cat Linh - Ha Dong metro line which was officially inaugurated and put into commercial operation in early November.

Recently, the Traffic Police Department just organized a training course to equip 120 traffic police officers with professional skills to ensure security, traffic order and safety on urban railway routes, including elevated rail lines such as Cat Linh – Ha Dong.

A representative of the Traffic Police Department said that the traffic police force will supervise the observance of traffic safety regulations by the operators and passengers on the Cat Linh - Ha Dong line.

The traffic police force will also take necessary measures to prevent possible threats to security and safety of the urban railway.

Additionally, the traffic police will regularly test train operators for alcohol concentration and drug abuse, and strictly handle any violation.

Meanwhile, the Hanoi Municipal Police Department directed its Traffic Police Office and Criminal Police Division, as well as police stations of related districts to deploy forces to ensure absolute safety for passenger transportation on the Cat Linh - Ha Dong metro line.

Particularly, the Hanoi Traffic Police Office in collaboration with the Dong Da District Police Station rolled out plans to maintain traffic safety at Cat Linh station as well as coordinated with the station management unit to safeguard all passengers. 

Local police in areas along the urban railway regularly disseminate safety measures to passengers on train. Trains are also carefully checked for safety by joint forces before departure.

Moreover, in order to actively prevent and fight crimes and social evils on the elevated railway route, the Criminal Police Division under the Hanoi Municipal Police Department deploys its officers to stations and on train to handle crimes such as pickpocketing, theft, drug abuse, public order disturbance.
