Public Security Forces asked to ensure security for celebration of August Revolution and National Day

PSNews-The Party Committee of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) organized a meeting on July 25 to review situations and outcomes of task performance of the public security forces in July and announce plans for August.

Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security chaired the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by various leaders of the MPS, General Departments, Commands and units under the MPS.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Danh Cong, Head of the Ministerial Office and Speaker of the MPS briefed participants inthe meeting on the results in July.

Particularly, forces and units under the MPS managed to investigate 3,832 criminal cases with 7,727 suspects arrested, cracked down on 198 criminal gangs, investigated and handled 842 cases of gambling with 3,542 related subjects arrested. As a result, the number of crimes was curbed. According to statistics, the number of criminal cases in July declined 0.21% compared with the previous month.

Regarding Party and force building, police departments and offices at various levels continued to promote implementation of Resolution No.4 by the 12th Party Central Committee on Party building and reorganization of the Party Central Committee of Public Security.

Public security forces at all levels have organized various programs and events to pay tribute to Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, martyrs and wounded soldiers on the occasion of the 70th Vietnam Day of Martyrs and Wounded Soldiers as well as other activities to promote political education on anniversaries of the Public Security Forces.

Minister To Lam asked all public security forces at all levels to bring into full play their achievements attained in July and implement seriously and effectively all policies by the Party, National Assembly and State as well as orders and directions by the MPS’ leaders.

He also urged the forces to always grasp the situation, successfully detect and prevent conspiracies and sabotage activities of hostile forces, and give priority to maintaining security and order in important and strategic areas.

The Minister stressed on the importance of plans and measures to maintain security and order during coming major celebrations of the country, including the August Revolution and National Day.

The 2017 APEC Security Sub-committee and various public security forces and units have been assigned to proactively and effectively implement all plans and measures to protect security and order during various events of the APEC Year 2017.

Minister Lam asked to open raids and campaigns to suppress criminal activities, increase patrols and frequently check firefighting capacities and fire prevention at public and crowded places during important national events. He also requested police forces to enhance checks and management to quickly detect and resolutely settle traffic offenses or acts against law enforcement forces.

Minister Lam also urged public security forces to organize political education activities among officers and the ranks to improve their political and ideological stance. It is needed to promote ties with the press and media to spread outstanding examples of public security officers, highlighting the image of the People’s Public Security officer in the people’s hearts.

He also asked the General Department of Police to guide police departments of localities to swiftly investigate and solve cases of spreading out false rumors that cause serious consequences to society, misunderstanding to the public opinion and psychological worries and anxieties to people.

Finally, the Minister of Public Security asked public security agencies and units at all levels to ensure all logistic, technical and financial supplies for operations of public security forces while continuously providing support and assistance for the people to respond to natural disasters and overcome consequences of calamity.
