Training course on fire risk appraisal of industrial zones in Central Vietnam opens for local firefighters

PSNews - The Department of Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue under the Ministry of Public Security in collaboration with US-based Cooperation UL on December 10 and 11 opened a training course on fire prevention and fighting risk assessment of industrial zones in central Vietnam for local firefighters.

The course gathered 85 firefighters from 18 municipal or provincial fire and rescue police sub-departments in central Vietnam, along with the representatives of some companies such as 3M Vietnam, Vietfair, KLACCI, Green Viet and UL.

During the training course, professional experts from UL Cooperation provided trainees with knowledge and skills in making fire prevention plans in industrial zone as well as quick responses to unexpected fire incidents and methods of appraising fire risks. The trainees also had opportunity to learn about fire fighting products and technologies developed by 3M Firestop, I-TEK- KLACCI, and Allied Joy.

The training course is an annual activity to implement the MoU on cooperation in building fire preventing and fighting standards, firefighter training and technology transfer between the Department of Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue under the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and US Cooperation UL.

This also serves as an opportunity for local firefighters to exchange and share their experiences in fire prevention and in the application of international standards for appraising fire risks, contributing to raising the capacity of the Vietnamese Fire Police force in appraising fire prevention and fighting plans at residential areas and industrial zones.
