Continuing the bridge of Vietnam - Palestine friendship

General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security, on June 10, received the Palestinian Ambassador to Vietnam, Saadi Salama, who came to bid farewell to the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam’s leadership upon the conclusion of his term of office.

Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed that Palestine is a close friend and a reliable partner of Vietnam, emphasized that the two nations share many similarities in their histories of struggling for national independence and national development.

The Minister shared his sympathy for the hardships and losses that the Palestinian people are enduring, especially the current severe humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

The Minister emphasized that Vietnam steadfastly supports the two-state solution, which includes the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, coexisting peacefully alongside Israel, based on pre-1967 borders and in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.

Minister Luong Tam Quang considered the 2023 visit to Vietnam by the Palestinian Minister of Interior, along with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on crime prevention and combat, as a crucial milestone that laid a foundation for long-term security cooperation between the two sides.

Ambassador Saadi Salama thanked Minister Luong Tam Quang and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security for their effective support and cooperation throughout his tenure in Vietnam. He expressed his deep impression of Vietnam's developmental achievements and thanked Vietnam for consistently supporting the just cause of the Palestinian people.

Ambassador Saadi Salama affirmed that he will continue to serve as a bridge to promote the traditional friendship and cooperation between Palestine and Vietnam in the coming time.
