MPS leadership meets with participants of 101st defense-security refresher course for high-ranking officials

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a meeting with attendants of the 101st defense-security knowledge refresher course for category-1 officials, on the afternoon of May 11 in Hanoi.

Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang chaired the meeting.

Also present at the event were Deputy Ministers of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen and Lieutenant General Dang Hong Duc, along with leaders of several under-ministerial departments.

Representatives from the National Defence Academy attending the meeting included Deputy Political Commissar Lieutenant General Le Van Hai, leaders of the National Defence Trainee Management Department, the Training Department and the Staff Office, together with 54 attendees of the 101st defense-security knowledge refresher course for category-1 officials.

At the meeting, Minister Luong Tam Quang briefed delegates on several notable achievements of the Public Security Forces in safeguarding national security and maintaining social order in recent times.

He underlined that the Public Security Forces had attained such achievements thanks to the strong leadership and excellent directions of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly and the Government, as well as the close coordination and cooperation of the Vietnam People’s Army, and the effective support of ministries, sectors and agencies at all levels and the people.

Minister Luong Tam Quang also took the occasion to thank the course attendees for their effective coordination and support for the Public Security Forces in performing their tasks in recent years.

He expressed confidence that the high-ranking officials attending the course would make the best use of the valuable theoretical and practical knowledge acquired during the course to improve their leadership capacity, thereby contributing to socio-economic development and the safeguarding of national defense and security.

At the same time, he expressed hope that they would continue to closely coordinate with and support the Public Security Forces to implement their main tasks of safeguarding national security, maintaining social order and force building.

On behalf of the National Defence Academy and the course attendees, Lieutenant General Le Van Hai expressed sincere appreciation to the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security for their support and attentions to the Academy and the course attendees.

He affirmed that, in the coming time, all attendees of the course would join the Public Security Forces to safeguard national security in the new situation.

Lieutenant General Le Van Hai also expressed his hope that the MPS leadership would continue maintaining close coordination with the Ministry of National Defence in general and the National Defence Academy in particular in providing trainees with security and social order knowledge, thereby contributing to improving the quality of national defense and security education programs of the academy.
