6,165 Vietnamese benefit from Amway's social programs

PSNews - Amway, a global health and beauty brand, has just released its Corporate Social Responsibility Report in Vietnam in 2016.

This is the second consecutive year Amway Vietnam has published a transparency report on the results of its social responsibility and charity programs in 2016. Accordingly, Amway has earmarked a major part of its investment for anti-malnutrition and child support activities, also in line with the global strategy of the Amway Group.

According to the report, Amway Vietnam donated 4.781 billion VND to support 16 different programs in Vietnam last year, which mainly benefited children through two campaigns, Amway One by One and Nutrilite Power of 5.

In particular, the "Nutrilite Power of 5" campaign has been conducted by Amway Group in Vietnam and 13 other countries worldwide, such as Mexico, Brazil, South Africa and Indonesia.

Via its free distribution channels of Nutrilite Little Bits with 15 vitamins and minerals to support children aged from 6 months to less than 5 years, Amway increased the number of its nutrition-supported children in the world to 14,000 by the end of 2016.

Although the program was launched in 2014, it has only been implemented by Amway Vietnam for the second consecutive year..

Amway has teamed up with the National Institute of Nutrition under the Ministry of Health to expand its support for 1,665 children, who have micronutrient-deficient and at risk of malnutrition and stunning; and to organize nutrition education events for mothers and babysitters in Phuong Son, Quy Son, Giap Son and Hong Giang communes of Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province.

From December 2016 to the end of February 2017, Amway continuously provided 4,943 boxes of Nutrilite Little Bits as a supplement to the daily diet for children, living in mountainous areas. The program received strong support from local health workers, schools and parents.

In addition, Amway is also committed to protecting the environment, saving energy, maintaining green - clean - beautiful landscapes and creating jobs for local workers, which contributes to the development of Vietnam’s economy.

The Amway Vietnam factory in Binh Duong province with total investment of 25 million USD, which is seen as part of Amway's global expansion plan, runs a well-designed production process meeting the quality and standard of Amway’s products throughout the world.

The factory has received 4 international certificates including ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management System; ISO 22000: 2005 Food safety management system; ISO 14001: 2004 Environmental Management System and OHSAS18001: 2007 Occupational health and safety management system administered by SGS (Switzerland) and BSI (United Kingdom) for Nutrilite functional food production system.

Amway Vietnam has taken the lead in environmental protection for years. As a result, it was presented with two certificates of merit by the National Commission on the Environment in 2013 and 2016. In addition, Amway Vietnam has entered the "Green Book" of the Binh Duong Industrial Zone Management Board in 2016.

In the end of January 2017, the Management Board of VSIP 2, where the Amway Vietnam plant is located, has rated all of Amway's production waste water after treatment as the A level, which can be used to water plants and farm fish.

According to Leo Boon Wang, in 2017, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Amway Vietnam, the company continues to underline sustainable business values ​​and social responsibility as its biggest commitment.

The company has also reaffirmed its reputation in 2016, as it name was named among the 100 CSI Sustainable Businesses, the Award held by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) for the 1st time.
