Da Nang to invest in social housing programme for over 3,000 people

The Da Nang Municipal Department of Planning and Investment on November 29 announced that the investment policy of social housing project at the apartment block No. 5 in zone B - Residential area south of Cam Le bridge has been approved by the Chairman of the Da Nang Municipal People's Committee Le Trung Chinh. 

Accordingly, the project is approved with the form of bidding to select investors. The project's purpost is to invest in building social housing for sale or rent in accordance with the law on housing, meeting the needs of the people.

Da Nang is one of the Vietnamese localities to have effectively implemented housing development programmes. To concretize the goals under the Da Nang Housing Development Programme wwith a vision towards 2030, the municipal administration has focused on creating mechanisms and policies to mobilise as many resources as possible and build up a residential land fund.

According to a report recently released by the Da Nang People's Committee on the construction, management and use of apartments, a combined total of 11,121 social housing and resettlement apartments, shop-houses, workers' housing units have till date been put into use citywide. Of this, 9,990 apartments are now for lease.

With regard to the housing development plans for the 2021 - 2025 period, 60,890 houses will be built in Da Nang on a total area of 2,419 hectares with total investment capital of VND101,490 billion VND, of which 480 billion VND is funded by the State budget, VND58,680 billion is from businesses  aand the rest is from local residents.
