Four articles of Public Security Newspaper honored at 13th Great National Unity Award

PSNews - An award ceremony of the 13th Press Award for the Cause of Great National Unity 2017- 2018 was held in Hanoi by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee on November 16 in Hanoi, to honor 76 press and media pieces, including four from Public Security Newspaper.

The event was held to mark the 88th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Traditional Day (1930-2018) with the presence of Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Education and Communications Vo Van Thuong and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Tran Thanh Man as well as leaders, former leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Ministry of Communications and Information, and representatives of press and media agencies, organizations.

According to the organizers, following the tradition of previous events, the 13th Press Award attracted much attention from press and media agencies and people across the country, even those from border and remote localities. 

The 76-winning pieces had carefully been selected from 1,500 valid entries in five categories of printed and e-newspapers, radio, television, and press photos of nearly 200 press and media agencies.

The entries focused on reflecting the important events of the country, as well as on promoting the role of reputation people in ethnic groups; the role of Party members in the cause of national unity; typical models in the “Following the moral example of President Ho Chi Minh” movement; the fight against corruption; good models in economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, and modern rural construction.

The organizers presented one special prize, three A, 13 B, 27 C and 32 consolation prizes to the 76 winners.

Accordingly, the special prize was presented to VTC16 television channel with a special report on ethnic minorities with very small populations. The three A prizes were presented to author Hoang Lan from Phu Nu Thu Do (Capital’s Women) Newspaper, a group of authors from the Vietnam Television and another group from VOV.

The Public Security Newspaper won four prizes including one B prize by Ngoc Nhu for his article “To ensure the sustainable development at the Central Highlands”.

Article "Transforming the "evil land" of Long Luong" by a group of authors Duy Hien, Anh Hieu won C prize while two consolation prizes awarded to Huyen Thanh's article “Overcrowded classrooms and pressure from the "bomb" of the population" and a series of "Communal Police" articles by Anh Hieu, Thu Hoa, Pham Tam, Minh Hien.
