Maintaining security and order in Central Highlands is of importance: Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang

The Ministry of Public Security held a conference on the afternoon of November 24, in Dak Lak to review the work of maintaining security and order in the Central Highlands. Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang attended and delivered a keynote speech at the conference.

At the meeting, the delegates discussed all aspects of the work of ensuring security and order in the Central Highlands in the past time, pointing out shortcomings and difficulties as well as risks and challenges for security and order in the Central Highlands.

Delegates also proposed approaches to ensure security and order in the Central Highlands in the coming time, contributing to maintaining political stability and promoting the culture, society and economy in the Central Highlands.

Concluding the conference, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that the conference was of importance, contributing to ensuring political security, social order and safety in the Central Highlands in particular and the whole country in general. 

Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang acknowledged and highly appreciated the effort of the governments of Central Highland provinces in maintaining social order and security in the past time, and thanked opinions and ideas given by the delegates at the meeting, particularly the solutions to address issues in the coming time.

Regarding key tasks of the local police in the coming time, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang requested that the local police force actively advise Party committees and authorities at all levels in the Central Highlands to seriously and effectively implement the resolutions and directives of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly and the Government on consolidating national defense and security in the Central Highlands.

The deputy minister asked the local police to strive to achieve the goal of curbing offences, drastically fight organized crime related to "black credit" and criminal groups under the cover of enterprises, catch wanted criminals hiding in the locality, stamp out inter-provincial and transnational illicit drug trafficking lines and illegal cultivation areas of cannabis plants.  

They should also effectively prevent deforestation, trading of illegal forestry products, violations of regulations on forest exploitation and protection while strengthening cooperation with functional forces of Laos and Cambodia in controlling crime and ensuring security and order along the shared borderlines.

Finally, local police forces should accelerate the implementation of the Government's Project 06 on enhancing the application of population, electronic identification and authentication data in national digitalization, improve the efficiency of residence management, management of foreigners’ residency, and management of conditional business lines in their designated areas.
