The MoH has administered a number of COVID-19 vaccines for emergency use to proactively deploy mass vaccination in an effort to control COVID-19.
In addition to guidelines on the use of the newly approved COVID-19 vaccines of Hayat-Vax and Abdala, the department also asked the National Vaccination Program to update the guidelines on the use of the vaccines that have been used in the country such as AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, Pfizer, Moderna, Vero Cell and Johnson&Johnson.
The National Expanded Program for Immunization should also coordinate with the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology and the Pasteur Institute to plan and expeditiously organize training and instructions on COVID-19 vaccination for provinces and cities nationwide before October 5.
Hayat-Vax and Abdala vaccines were approved and licensed by the MoH for emergency use on September 10 and 17, respectively.
