MPS opens 2026 Public Security Military Regulations, Martial Arts and Sports finals in Da Nang

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) solemnly held the opening ceremony of the Finals of the 2026 People's Public Security Forces’ Military Regulations, Martial Arts, and Sports Games, on the evening of August 1, at East Sea Park (Da Nang City).

The event was also seen as a political activity of practical significance celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Security Force, toward the 81st anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Public Security Forces (PPSF) and the 21st anniversary of the All-People Festival for National Security.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Head of the Games Steering Committee Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung attended and delivered the opening address.

The ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Da Nang Municipal People's Committee Nguyen Manh Hung, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang Municipal People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, leaders of central agencies, ministries sectors and various localities, along with thousands of public security officers, athletes, local residents and tourists.

The Finals of the 2026 PPSF Military Regulations, Martial Arts and Sports Games is the largest-scale sports event ever organized by the PPSF, gathering more than 4,700 athletes from 81 sports teams and 27 military and martial arts teams, alongside more than 2,000 public security officers and soldiers participating in the parade and artistic performances.

In his opening speech, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung stated that the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the MPS have always identified physical training following the example of President Ho Chi Minh as a regular, overarching political task for every public security officer and soldier.

"Enhancing the quality of physical training, sports, military regulations, tactics and martial arts not only elevates physical endurance, resolve and combat skills, but also builds a regular working style and enforces strict discipline, meeting the requirements to build truly clean, strong, regular, elite and modern PPSF," Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung emphasized.

According to the Deputy Minister, in the new context, physical training, sports, military instruction and martial arts training must continue to be innovated and improved in quality and effectiveness to meet the demands of protecting national security and maintaining social order and safety. Held annually, the Games serves as an important occasion to enhance the health, resolve, and combat proficiency of officers and soldiers while driving the physical fitness movement across the entire PPSF.

Since the beginning of 2026, regional qualifying rounds held across three areas were successfully organized, selecting 27 military regulations and martial arts teams and 81 sports teams with over 4,700 outstanding athletes to compete in the finals. Disciplines include marksmanship, obstacle course racing, martial arts, 7-a-side football, pickleball, tactic run, "Healthy Public Security Officer, "applied swimming, armed swimming, and basketball.

Expressing full confidence in the success of the event, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung affirmed that with a high sense of responsibility, determination, and vibrant competitive spirit, the Finals of the 2026 PPSF Military Regulations, Martial Arts, and Sports Games will truly become a grand festival for the force, a gathering of bravery, discipline, solidarity, and dedication, contributing to the continued building of a regular, elite, and modern PPSF.

Welcoming participants on behalf of the leadership of Da Nang City, Vice Chairwoman of the Municipal People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi affirmed that hosting the finals not only helped spread the image of public security officers who are close, friendly and dedicated to serving the People, but also offered an opportunity to promote the image, land, people and cultural heritage of a civilized, safe, hospitable and constantly developing Da Nang to delegates, tourists and international friends. At the same time, it was an opportunity for the city to reaffirm its capacity to organize and manage national and international cultural and sports events.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, selecting Da Nang as the host city for the finals demonstrated the high trust and appreciation of the MPS leadership toward the Party Committee, municipal government, and people of Da Nang, with the Da Nang Police Force at the core.

On behalf of the city leadership, she expressed deep appreciation for the trust of the MPS leaders and expressed hope that Da Nang will continue to be selected to host major MPS events in the future, while wishing all athlete delegations calm, confidence and high achievements at the Games.
