The Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony under the chair of Politburo member and Minister of Public Security General To Lam to inaugurate the President Ho Chi Minh Monument in the premises of the Southern branch of the Ministry of Public Security in Ho Chi Minh City, on December 4.
Present at the ceremony were former Minister of Public Security General Le Hong Anh, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Deputy Minister of Public Security Major General Le Van Tuyen, Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security Lieutenant General To An Xo, and other former leaders and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister To Lam said that, in order to show gratitude and sentiment of the People's Public Security Forces to President Ho Chi Minh, the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security decided to build the monument in the solemn place of the Southern branch of the Ministry of Public Security in Ho Chi Minh City.
This is a typical cultural work with educational values, serving as a venue for generations of public security officers and soldiers to express their sentiment and gratitude to the great national hero.
The building of the monument also aims to celebrate 75 years since Uncle Ho gave six teachings to the People's Public Security Forces (March 11, 1948).
At the inaugural ceremony, Minister To Lam at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument pledged that the People's Public Security Forces will wholeheartedly promote their glorious heroic tradition, constantly self-study and self-train to improve their political awareness and professional qualifications, continue to learn and follow Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style as well as Uncle Ho’s six teachings to People's Public Security Forces so as to build really clean, strong, regular, elite and modern Public Security Forces, meeting all task requirements in the new situation, in line with Resolution No. 12 of the Politburo.
The Public Security Forces will overcome any difficulties and hardships to successfully complete their missions of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety, contributing to building a powerful, prosperous, democratic, fair and civilized nation of Vietnam on a par with other countries in the world, according to his will.
Minister To Lam also thanked the units and individuals who have designed and built the monument, and asked relevant units of the ministry to seriously manage and maintain the monument as well as to effectively promote the value of the work.
