Strengthening cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Viet Nam and the Cambodian Ministry of Interior

PSNews - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen held talks with a delegation from the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia, led by Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior Sante Bandit Chan Ean, on the morning of August 3, 2026, in Ha Noi.

On behalf of the Ministry of Public Security of Viet Nam, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen warmly welcomed H.E. Sante Bandit Chan Ean and the high-level delegation visiting Viet Nam to exchange practical experience on merging provinces and centrally run cities, implementing the two-tiered local government model, and streamlining the organizational apparatus of the Ministry of Public Security of Viet Nam.

Sharing insights on the organizational restructuring of the Ministry of Public Security of Viet Nam, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen stated that, in implementing the Party and State policy on streamlining the political system for lean, effective and efficient operation, the Ministry recognized the task as a major, crucial and complex undertaking.

Consequently, the Ministry maintained a cautious, meticulous, objective and scientific approach, coordinating closely with central commissions, ministries, agencies and localities to conduct thorough research and preparation throughout the process.

Addressing specific topics of interest raised by the Cambodian delegation, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen shared practical approaches to personnel redeployment and management during organizational streamlining.

Speaking at the talks, H.E. Sante Bandit Chan Ean expressed sincere gratitude for the warm and thoughtful reception extended by the Ministry of Public Security of Viet Nam and Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen. He spoke highly of the insights shared and the successful outcomes achieved in implementing the two-tiered local government model and streamlining the organizational apparatus of the Ministry of Public Security of Viet Nam.

H.E. Sante Bandit Chan Ean expressed his desire for the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia to continue receiving cooperation and shared expertise from the Ministry of Public Security of Viet Nam in areas where Viet Nam possesses strong experience and capability, particularly in building a lean, effective and efficient organizational apparatus, as well as in security and law enforcement cooperation. He noted that such joint efforts will further strengthen the fine traditional friendship between the two ministries in particular and the two nations as a whole
