*According to Mr. Le Minh Hieu, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ward 26, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), during the social distance period, many cars, trucks with banners of “0-VND ride”, “charity bus” or “I love Sai Gon” entered the city, claiming that they were on the way toward HCMC to present gifts and necessities to the locals.
In fact, they transported commercial goods.
Another problem was that many charity trucks randomly stopped in sites and started to present goods to local people. Such large gatherings increased the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
“For charity groups who transported and offered necessaries to local people, we have created favorable conditions for them, but we will strictly handle those who transported commercial goods under the cover of charity missions,” Mr. Hieu said.

*At the beginning of the application of social distance measures in HCMC according to Directive No.16, many people rushed to supermarket to buy food for storage. People who could not make it decided to order food online.
On knowing that many cyber scammers sold poor quality food or outdated food to online customers.
*Recently, some Facebook accounts from HCMC and some other provinces shared a message saying the message recipient may win a 5 million VND voucher on the 10th anniversary of Coop Mart.
However, a representative of Coop Mart confirmed that, the supermarket chain did not launch that promotion program. In fact, many customers clicked on the attached link, filled in the form with their personal information and paid fees to receive nothing.
It is just a form of cyber fraud, in which scammers use fake links to take money from Facebook users, and steal their bank account numbers and bank pin codes.
Earlier, on July 20, the National Cyber Security Center of Vietnam (NCSC) under the Ministry of Information and Communications issued a document warning people of an increase in cyber scams during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In order to protect the interests of the citizens, NCSC asked Internet users to send suspected links or report suspected online scams to http://canhbao.ncsc.gov.vn for advice and solutions.
