The website is established in accordance with the policies and directions of the Party, the State, the Ministry of Public Security and the Hanoi Municipal People's Committee on furthering the application of information technology in State administrative bodies.

This website will also serve as an active channel for the Hanoi Municipal Police Department to disseminate the Party's policies and the State's laws related to national security and social order and safety; and update information on tricks and activities of criminals.

It also gives people and organizations and businesses instructions and guidance on internet-based administrative procedures or online public services.

Through the website, people can contact the police and report them on criminals, particularly wanted fugitives.
