The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) hosted a meeting with the veterans and families of fallen officers who used to join the South Battlefield Reinforced Security Police Contingent, on the afternoon of March 25, in Hue city.

Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung chaired the meeting.

In a warm and cozy atmosphere, delegates recalled their unforgettable memories when they fought the enemy in the South Battlefield during the resistance war against the US for national independence and reunification.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung stressed that the  Public Security Forces always cherish and deeply appreciate the great sacrifices and contributions made by the older generations of public security officers, especially those deployed to the Southern battlefield during the resistance war against the US.

He added that their heroic sacrifices and devotion is a source of profound pride and a priceless spiritual legacy for today’s and future generations of public security officers.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung hoped that all the veteran security officers of the South Battlefield as well as those who fought in other battlefields during the resistance war against the US will continue to support the building of revolutionary, regular, elite and modern Public Security Forces in the new situation.

The Deputy Minister also wished, the veterans, with their valuable experiences, would further inspire and encourage the current generation of public security officers to uphold and further promote the heroic traditions of the Public Security Forces and successfully fulfill their duties entrusted by the Party, State, and people.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung presented gifts to veterans and relatives of fallen officers who had served in the South Battlefield Reinforced Security Police Contingent during the resistance war against the U.S.
