At the talks, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen affirmed that, under the strategic guidance of the "six major orientations" set out by General Secretary and State President To Lam and General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and the Vietnam-China Community with a Shared Future that carries strategic significance have continued to be consolidated and developed in an increasingly substantive and effective manner across all fields.
Within the broader framework of bilateral relations, cooperation between Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security and China's Ministry of Justice plays an important role in strengthening mutual trust, understanding and coordination between the two countries' relevant agencies.

In recent years, the two ministries have effectively maintained bilateral cooperation mechanisms, regularly exchanged delegations and shared information on crime as well as hands-on experience in relevant fields.
Notable areas of cooperation include the development, dissemination and education of the laws on security and public order; the transfer of sentenced prisoners; and the management of prisons, inmates and correctional facilities.
Discussing future cooperation priorities, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen stressed the need to further strengthen the exchange of information and experience in judicial administration, management and the application of digital technologies, particularly in prison and inmate management.

Such exchanges would enable both sides to learn from each other's management practices and technological applications in areas of mutual interest, thereby improving the effectiveness of their professional cooperation.
Following the discussions, Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security and China's Ministry of Justice agreed to further promote cooperation and improve the effectiveness of the bilateral coordination mechanism between units for prison management of the two ministries.
These cooperation activities will be conducted under the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two ministries in April 2024, helping make bilateral cooperation increasingly substantive, practical and effective.
