Scientists honored Tran Dai Nghia Award in Ha Noi

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam presents the Tran Dai Nghia Award to scientists in Ha Noi on September 11.

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said that young scientists should be provided with opportunities and challenges in order to overcome limitations and make breakthroughs in their work.

Two outstanding projects were honored in this year were ‘The technological process of making fine iron ore, steel and fire-proof building materials from red mud’ by Doctors Vu Duc Loi and Nguyen Van Tuan, ‘The application of advanced technology in vaccine production’ by Prof. Dr. Hoang Thuy Nguyen and late Prof. Dang Duc Trach.

The two most outstanding scientific works were selected from 15 entries of 3 mainly fields: Information and communications technology, life sciences and chemistry.

The award, named after late professor academician Tran Dai Nghia (1913-1997), was presented for the first time this year to honor scientists for their contributions of great significance towards applied scientific circles.
