Special Art Program marks War Invalids and Martyrs' Day

PSNews - A special art program co-organized by the Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper and the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) was held on July 25 at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace to celebrate the 71st War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27).

The program witnessed the presence of Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh, and leaders of from ministries and departments, as well as revolution contributors and outstanding Vietnamese youths.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Thuan Huu, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of the Nhan Dan Newspaper stressed that, following the noble tradition "When drinking water, remember its source" of our nation, and learning about the great sacrifice and devotion of all heroic martyrs and war invalids, the Party, the State and Vietnamese people always remember the great contribution of all revolutionary veterans, heroic martyrs, war invalids and revolution contributors.

He affirmed that the Party and the State always pay due attention to the work of taking care of war invalids, martyrs and revolution contributors while mobilizing people to actively participate in the " gratitude-returning" movements.

The art program aimed to commemorate the heroic martyrs and war invalids who had sacrificed themselves and devoted their youth, energy, blood and bones to the national liberation struggle. At the same time, the event was a good chance to educate the young generation about the work of returning gratitude to their forefather generation.

The special art program, directed by People's Artist Tran Binh, consisted of 20 performances, with the participation of many well-known artists such as singers Thanh Lam, Ho Quynh Huong, Duc Tuan, and artists from the Vietnam Contemporary Art Theater.

At the program, the organizers presented gifts and savings books to 3 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and 20 families of war invalids and martyrs who are in living in a difficult state in localities throughout the country.
