Vietnam, Bulgaria to strengthen bilateral ties

PSNews – Vietnam and Bulgaria should promote bilateral relations and cooperation, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security suggested at his meeting with the high-level delegation of the Bulgarian State Agency for National Security, led by its head Dragonmir Zdravkov Dimitrov in Hanoi on November 29.

Hailing the traditional friendship between the two countries, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam highlighted the two nations’ political trust, mutual support and close coordination in the international arena, contributing to protecting national interests and national security of each country and to building a peace and prosperity world.

The Minister of Public Security also emphasized, Vietnam always wants to expand cooperation between the two sides in all fields towards founding a strategic partnership between the two countries.

Regarding the East Sea (South China Sea) issue, Minister To Lam stated that Vietnam wishes Bulgaria to continue supporting Vietnam’s position and ASEAN’s view on settling disputes, including the disputes in the East Sea, by peaceful measures and in line with international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), to ensure security, safety and freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea.

The Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security said, Vietnam highly values the visit to Vietnam of the high-level delegation of the Bulgarian State Agency for National Security.

He also expressed his wish that cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Bulgarian State Agency for National Security would further develop and achieve more practical results in all fields, contributing to ensuring social order and safety and national security of each country.

For his part, Mr. Dragonmir Zdravkov Dimitrov affirmed to do his best to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the Bulgarian State Agency for National Security and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security which bears significance and means much to traditional bilateral relations.
