What is inside quarantine zone for Vietnamese returning from China?

PSNews – Over 300 Vietnamese citizens returning from China are currently quarantined at a center of the Lang Son Provincial Military Command to monitor symptoms related to an acute respiratory syndrome caused by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV). 

The quarantine zone, which is located in campus of Regiment 123 in Lang Son Province, consists of 7 dormitories.

Currently, there are 3 quarantine zones in Lang Son Province, including Regiment 123, Infantry Battalion No.1, and military-civilian infirmary 24, with a total capacity of 1,500 beds.


According to Senior Colonel Ha Van Thiet, Deputy Commander of the Lang Son Provincial Military Command, the three quarantine zones are tasked with receiving Vietnamese returning from China. They will be quarantined for 14 days.

During that time, they are provided with food, accommodation and health checkups twice per day. They are also provided with information about the disease situation and how to prevent the novel coronavirus.

Those who are detected with symptoms such as high temperatures, cough with be transferred to the provincial hospital. 

Currently, four patients with such symptoms are being treated at the local hospital but are not infected with the 2019-nCoV.

The area is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected with Cloramin B every day. 

Almost all quarantined people at the center have returned from Guangxi, Guangdong, Pingxiang, Jiangxi (China).

From time to time, an ambulance is seen bringing a new group of people from the border to the quarantine zone. They all are disinfected upon arrival and have their health checked before coming to their rooms.

Wearing facemasks is compulsory at the quarantine zone. In the photo, a doctor is helping a new member wear a facemask.
