Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung praises outstanding officers in fighting pandemic

Major General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City-based Interim Front Command of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on September 26 awarded police teams and officers for their outstanding achievements in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring local security and order.

The Deputy Minister and his aides visited and inquired the health of Captain Nguyen Cong Tin, a policeman in charge of Residential Section 5 (Tan An Ward, Ninh Kieu District) and Nguyen Anh Dung, a civil guard of Tan An Ward. They were injured while performing their duties and are treating at Military Hospital 121.

The Deputy Minister praised the two officers for their bravery in fighting crimes. He also hailed the outstanding achievements of the city’s police and civil guard forces in ensuring security and preventing the pandemic.

The Deputy Minister requested the leadership of the Can Tho police and local authorities to take care of the health of the injured officers as well as to support their families. He also asked the Can Tho Municipal Criminal Investigation Agency in coordination with relevant units to expand investigation into the case and strictly handle those who opposed on-duty officers.

Later, Deputy Minister Hung and his entourage visited the Binh Thuy District Police Station.

In recognition of their excellent achievements in protecting local social order, security and combating COVID-19 over the past time, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung awarded Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Public Security to the Binh Thuy District Police Station and five policemen of various units under the Can Tho Municipal Police Department.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Can Tho Municipal People's Committee presented Certificates of Merit to the Criminal Police Team and five policemen of the Binh Thuy District Police Station as well as one officer of the Binh Thuy District People's Procuracy. 

Meanwhile, the Director of the Can Tho Municipal Police Department awarded Certificates of Merit to three teams and seven police officers of the Binh Thuy District Police Station for their great contributions to solving a large-scaled case of hi-tech gambling.
