Made-in-Vietnam test kits meet European standard

The UK Department of Health and Social Care has granted the CE mark and the Certificate of Free Sale (CFS) for the made-in-Vietnam COVID-19 test kit, produced by the Military Medical Academy and Viet A Company.

The made-in-Vietnam test kit can now be legally sold without any restriction in all member states of the European economic area, including the UK.

After being granted by the UK Department of Health and Social Care, made-in-Vietnam test kits receive orders from the UK, India, Mexico, the US and other European countries.

Earlier, in March, 20 countries had negotiated to buy this kit. In the near future, the manufacturer will export the kits to Iran, Finland, Malaysia and Ukraine. Of these, Iran ordered 200,000 tests (4,000 sets) and Ukraine ordered 15,000 tests (300 sets).

The municipal authorities of Hanoi have ordered 200,000 kits for their own use and to present to hospitals in Italy.

Real-Time PCR is currently the only method recognized by the WHO as the “gold standard” for detecting SARS-CoV-2.

Vietnam is able to make around 10,000 test kits per day. The production capacity can be expanded three times on request.
