On the afternoon of the same day (local time), Minister Luong Tam Quang had talks with General Nikolai Patrushev, Aide to the President of Russia and Chairman of the Maritime Board of the Russian Federation.
General Patrushev warmly welcomed the high-level Vietnamese delegation and highly valued the positive development of the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and Vietnam in various fields, emphasizing that security cooperation remains one of the vital pillars.
Expressing his sincere gratitude to General Patrushev for taking the time to warmly receiving him, General Luong Tam Quang stressed that the Party, State, and people of Vietnam always remember the assistance and support of the former Soviet Union and present-day Russian Federation. He particularly acknowledged General Patrushev’s active and effective personal support for the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in maintaining security and order over the years. The Vietnamese General expressed his hope that General Patrushev would continue to foster bilateral relations, particularly driving strong growth in security cooperation in the coming time.
During their talks, the two sides exchanged views on issues of shared interest to further deepen the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Based on proposals by Minister Luong Tam Quang, the two sides agreed to focus their cooperation on developing the security industry, boosting the maritime economy, and enhancing human resource development.
