He made the directive during a working session with relevant under-ministerial public security departments, academies and institutions to review the preparation for the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) Assessment Exam to select qualified secondary school graduates for public security schools in the 2026-27 academic year, on June 16.
The meeting was held at the MPS headquarters and connected via video conference to local police departments and public security educational institutions in southern Vietnam.
Deputy Director of the MPS Department of Training and Education Senior Colonel Nguyen Anh Tuan reported that, following the issuance of Plan No. 144/KH-BCA regarding new regular admissions, the department proactively advised leaders of the MPS on issuing synchronized guiding documentation force-wide. Additionally, the admissions management software has been upgraded to match new regulatory standards from the Ministry of Education and Training and the MPS.
Despite a decrease in overall admission quotas for 2026 compared to last year, candidate registrations continue to climb. The average competition rate has reached approximately 11.94 applicants per slot, among the highest in recent years, allowing institutions to select top-tier talents.
2026 Registration Breakdown by Admission Methods: Total applicants: 22,326 nationwide (an increase of 195 candidates compared to 2025) Method 1 (Direct Admission): 89 candidates; Method 2 (International Language Certificates + MPS Exam): 2,346 candidates (reflecting the success of policies promoting global integration).Method 3 (National High School Graduation Exam + MPS Exam): 21,611 candidates (remaining the primary pathway).
Digital transformation efforts have also accelerated. On May 19, the official PPS admissions website launched an integrated AI Chatbot to help candidates better understand information about the exam and admissions procedures. To date, the platform has logged over 987,000 visits and thousands of interactions with parents and students.
With the exam scheduled for June 21, the Department of Training and Education confirmed that test bank generation, printing and transport security measures are on track. Host academies have finalized exam rooms, surveillance networks and medical support protocols.
Addressing the session, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung stressed that because this exam serves as the foundational benchmark for PPS entry, the ultimate goal is absolute safety, fairness and transparency, ensuring zero tolerance for even the smallest oversight.
He specifically ordered heightened vigilance against high-tech exam fraud, particularly involving Artificial Intelligence (AI). Heads of examination venues must implement early, proactive screening to detect and suppress violations immediately.
Regarding key tasks in the coming time, the Deputy Minister directed relevant units to intensify inspections, guarantee strict confidentiality of exam materials, and continue building a centralized admissions database to streamline force-wide management.
