Ministry of Public Security expands cooperation space with U.S. enterprise

Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Dang Hong Duc, on April 15, hosted a high-level delegation from the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) led by its Chairman and Director General Brian D. McFeeters.

The meeting was expected to strengthen areas of cooperation as key pillars of the Vietnam–United States Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The event were also attended by representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi and U.S. businesses as well as leaders from agencies under the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, including the Ministry of Public Security Office, the Department of Foreign Affairs and other under-ministerial agencies responsible for the areas of security, public order, technology and logistics.

In his remarks, Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc hailed the strong development of Vietnam–U.S. relations, especially following the upgrade of the bilateral relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the celebration of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025.

Notably, trade and investment cooperation continued to serve as a central highlight, as it had seen strong growth in terms of not only scale but also interconnection between the two economies.

The United States is currently one of Vietnam’s leading trading partners and a key export market, while Vietnam is emerging as an increasingly important trade partner of the United States.

Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc emphasized that the Ministry of Public Security highly values the practical contributions of the U.S. business community through their investment, business and services in information and communications technology, energy, healthcare, industrial manufacturing and finance–banking in Vietnam.

The senior official of the Ministry of Public Security affirmed that the Vietnamese Government always welcomes U.S. enterprises and facilitates their long-term investment and business of on the basis of equality, mutual benefit, alignment with the country’s socio-economic conditions and strict compliance with Vietnamese law.

In the current context, Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc said that the two countries have much potential for further cooperation, especially in areas in support of national development and security maintenance in the digital transformation era.

Further, the two sides can enhance coordination in science, technology and innovation as well as cybersecurity, data management and research and application of emerging technologies.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the possibility of expanding cooperation beyond the traditional trade and investment framework toward a more strategic domain that can well combine economic, technological and security factors.
