CAND FC urged to develop to match its name

PSNews — The Ministry of Public Security held a send-off ceremony on September 3 in Hanoi for the People’s Public Security Football Club (CAND FC) ahead of the 2026/27 season, while officially announcing the transfer of PVF-CAND Youth FC to Hung Yen FC.

The ceremony was attended by Politburo Member and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang, who is the President of the CAND Sports Association.

Also present at the event were Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long; Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee Pham Quang Ngoc; Member of the Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Le Hai Binh; and Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong.

During the event, CAND FC officially introduced its leadership, coaching staff, squad, and new kits for the 2026/27 campaign. Entering the new season with thorough organizational, tactical and squad preparations, the club has set a firm goal of earning promotion to the top-flight V.League next season.

Meanwhile, Hung Yen FC made its official debut following the transfer of PVF-CAND Youth FC. Building on a strong youth academy foundation, the club will compete in the National First Division for the upcoming season.

Addressing the event, Minister Luong Tam Quang stated that the Executive Committee of the Public Security CPV Organization and Ministry leadership consistently prioritize high-performance sports, particularly football. He described football as a powerful sport that unites people across all walks of life while fostering physical endurance, resolve and willpower among officers, soldiers and the public.

Highlighting the Vietnamese national team’s recent success at the 2026 ASEAN Cup, which featured prominent contributions from CAND players, Minister Luong Tam Quang noted that CAND football has progressed rapidly, supplying quality athletes to national squads in regional and international competitions.

He attributed these achievements to continuous hard work, rigorous training, solid planning, unity, and a strong drive to succeed across the team, supported by the coaching staff, government agencies, and fans.

"On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Public Security CPV Organization and the Ministry of Public Security, I highly commend CAND FC for its strong determination, and I hope Hung Yen FC will shares the same spirit," Minister Luong Tam Quang said.

He expressed confidence that through every match and season, the image of the public security officer will continue to shine, portraying Vietnam as a safe, dynamic and resilient nation.

To achieve these goals, Minister Luong Tam Quang urged CAND FC to quickly formulate a development strategy worthy of its name, set clear goals for regional and continental competitions, and focus heavily on execution. He called on the club to honor the traditions of the Public Security Forces by building a professional, modern and sustainable organization capable of competing at higher domestic and international levels.

Additionally, the Minister emphasized the need to build a culture of fair play, sportsmanship and beautiful football, urging the team to firmly reject any form of negativity on and off the field.

"Every player must not only perform on the pitch, but also act as an ambassador for the Public Security Forces, exemplifying respect for the laws, community responsibility, confidence and national pride," Minister Luong Tam Quang stressed.

He believed that the continued support of central authorities, local governments, corporate sponsors, media agencies and football fans will empower both CAND FC and Hung Yen FC to achieve big success in the 2026/27 season and beyond.
