Public Security Forces contribute greatly to country’s socio-economic development and foreign affairs

PSNews-The Public Security Forces have been striving to successfully fulfill the set goals and assigned tasks. The various important achievements, obtained by the forces over the past years, have contributed to maintaining political stability, creating a secure and safe environment favorable for the nation’s socio-economic development and foreign affairs.

The opening ceremony of the 72th National Meeting of the Public Security Forces was organized in Hanoi on December 26th. Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security, briefed participants on the situations and achievements of the force in the year of 2016. 

The forces have  proactively grasped, analyzed and evaluated the situations; made precise forecasts;and offered good and timely ideas to the Party and State on various policies, strategies and policies of politics, foreign affairs, socio-economics. They have succeeded in protecting important political targets and events of the country, especially the 12th National Congress of the CPV, the Elections of the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels in the term 2016-2021.

2016 has marked the first year, implementing the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress while the situations in the region and the world have remained complex. Thanks to the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), the Government, the effective coordination of ministries, the support and assistance from the people, the Public Security Forces have successfully fulfilled all assigned tasks, and achieved the set objectives and goals, contributing to maintaining political stability, creating a secure safe and favorable environment, serving national socio-economic development and foreign affairs of the country.

The forces have succeeded in effectively investigating and combating economic crime, corruption, drug trafficking, environmental and hi-tech crimes. Additionally, relevant units under the MPS have deployed synchronous methods to maintain traffic order and safety, reducing traffic accidents in all 3 criteria, and improve the effectiveness of State management over fire prevention and fight.

While summarizing 15 years implementing the Directive by the Minister of Public Security on "Strengthening the mass mobilization work of the People's Public Security Forces" (2001-2016), Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security stressed: "The forces’ mass mobilization work has achieved fruitful results, reinforcing the close-knit relationship between the Public Security Forces and the people. Public security officials and soldiers have become more aware of the importance of the mass mobilization; as a result, more public security officers and soldiers have joined mass mobilization activities, promoting the effectiveness of the work and mobilizing more people to participate in the protection of security and order at the basic level".

For great achievements reached by officers, soldiers, units and the whole Public Security Forces, some 148,529 individuals and organizations under the MPS have been honored by the Party, State and the MPS; various outstanding examples of brave police officers in fighting crime have been praised. Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son reiterated the public forces’ 2017 action slogan: “Innovative, Proactive, Disciplinary, Responsible and Effective”.

On behalf of the Party and State, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong praised and congratulated the achievements obtained by the Public Security Forces in various aspects over the past years. Showing his agreement with the directions, goals, tasks and solutions proposed by the Public Security Forces, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong underlined a number of key tasks that the Central Public Security Party Committee, leaders of the MPS should focus its leadership and direction on in the future.

On behalf of the Central Public Security Party Committee, leaders of the MPS as well as all generals, officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers, Minister of Public Security To Lam expressed his deep thanks to the directions and suggestions made by the General Secretary,stressing that the Public Security Forces would effectively grasp the Party Chief’s guidance and concretize his directions into programs and plans of action in the future.
