Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Government's Human Rights Steering Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung attended and delivered the keynote speech at the meeting.

The training course attracted the participation of 300 delegates who are leaders and officials from 22 cities and provinces in charge of protecting and ensuring practice of human rights.

The conference served as a forum for delegates to exchange practical experiences, and solve difficult issues and problems, contributing to promoting human rights at the grassroots level as well as protecting and ensuring practice of human rights for people to deny hostile forces from taking advantage of the issues of democracy and human rights to undermine the Party and State and the national unity bloc.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung emphasized that Vietnam's membership of the United Nations Human Rights Council for the 2023-2025 term has demonstrated friends and the international community’s trust in Vietnam’s honoring human rights and ensuring practice of human rights.

In the past time, under the direction of the Government's Human Rights Steering Committee and efforts of the provincial-level Human Rights Steering Committees of 63 provinces and cities, the work of protecting human rights and ensuring practice of human rights achieved positive results.

At the conference, delegates also listened to lectures read by experts from the Central Commission of Information and Education, Government Office, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

The lectures focused on emerging issues related to human rights work, information dissemination on human rights in external relations, and the fight against malicious information in cyberspace, and human rights stated in international conventions and treaties that Vietnam has joined or signed.
