The workshop was attended by nearly 500 domestic and international delegates who are leaders, scientists, and researchers from prestigious Asian police training institutions as well as police officers with much practical experience.
The workshop aimed to discuss challenges for the work of police training in the digital era, while systematizing and developing theories on training courses for police forces, especially the criminal police force, in the digital era, contributing to boosting the efficiency of the work of ensuring security and combating crimes in Vietnam in the coming digital era.
Accordingly, the outstanding development of science and technology, especially the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and the globalization process have brought the contemporary world into the digital era, which is creating new forms of the social life, digital economy, digital life, digital knowledge, digital culture, digital government, digital cities, digital citizens.
Besides its advantages, the digital era also gives birth to a new type of crime - digital crime. In the circumstance, cyberspace becomes the criminal operational environment, science and technology and digital media can be criminal tools, and people’s digital accounts, digital currencies, digital assetsare criminals’ targets.
At the workshop, delegates discussed issues regarding challenges to the police force in the digital era as well as approaches for police training institutions to address issues and challenges to accomplish their tasks in the digital era.
Concluding the workshop, President of the People’s Police Academy Lieutenant General Tran Minh Huong Prof., Dr., affirmed that delegates shared valuable knowledge and experience in the work of training police force in the coming time and high-quality human resources in the digital era, and promoted cooperation among police forces of countries.
