An Giang Provincial Police clarify 83.6% of criminal cases in first half of 2018

PSNews – The Provincial Police of An Giang organized a conference on August 15 to review its task performance in the first 6 months of 2018.

The conference saw the presence of Major General Bui Be Tu, Director of the Provincial Police Department.

In the first 6 months of 2018, the Provincial Police Department of An Giang implemented various plans and measures to grasp the local situation; took the initiative in effectively responding and handling complicated cases related to security and order.

According to reports at the conference, criminal cases in the province reduced 21% compared with the same period in 2017, and the rate of successfully investigated cases reached 83.6%, of which 100% serious and extremely serious cases were successfully resolved. This contributed to ensuring security and order in the locality.

The provincial police force also cracked down on 2 gangs that committed 22 motorcycle thefts in Long Xuyen and Chau Doc cities, seized VND 884 million and returned 29 motorcycles to the rightful owners.

The provincial police force also coordinated with functional forces to crack down on 688 smuggling cases, mostly of tobacco, electronic devices, cosmetics, worth some VND 12 billion. The traffic accidents were controlled and reduced in all 3 categories: numbers of cases, deaths and injuries. Meanwhile, the Provincial Police Department also focused on Party and force building as well as well performed logistics and techniques work.

Speaking at the event, Major General Bui Be Tu asked all units under the Provincial Police Department to actively grasp the situation, closely follow conspiracies and activities of hostile forces, deploy all forces and means and implement effectively all plans to ensure safety of important works, political events and festivals in the province, and solve all complex issues arising as well as avoid being driven in a disadvantage.
