ASEAN 2020’s sub-committee for Security and Health summoned to second meeting

PSNews - The sub-committee for Security and Health under the National 2020 ASEAN Committee on October 24 opened its second working session to review results of its implementation of the key tasks set out in the 1st Session and roll out working plan for the ending months of 2019.

Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Member of the National 2020 ASEAN Committee, Head of the Sub-Committee chaired the meeting. The event also saw the presence of Mr. Phan Tam, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Deputy Head of the Sub-committee.

At the meeting, representatives of the relevant ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Transport and various police units under the Ministry of Public Security, reviewed keyaspects of theirwork, discussed the difficulties and problems implementing the tasks.

They also drew out the directions to implement their assigned tasks in the remaining time of 2019, in an effort to provide best healthcare services and ensure public order, safety and security for all events to be hosted by Vietnam as the Chairman of ASEAN in 2020.

In conclusion, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam, recognized and praised the high sense of responsibility, effort and proactive working spirit of all sub-committee members in implementing the key tasks for the ASEAN Year of 2020. He agreed on the 10 directions and tasks that were assigned by the Sub-committee to  relevant ministries, branches and public security units in preparation for the ASEAN Year of 2020.

Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam asked the Standing Members of the Subcommittee to collect all opinions raised by Subcommittee members and delegates at the second session in order to complete the working plan and schedule of the Subcommittee.

Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam stated that, in the coming time, the Subcommittee should inspect health facilities and security work in the localities that host ASEAN 2020 events, cont organized, and scrutinize immigration while simplifying customs and immigration procedures at airports for international delegates to enter Vietnam for international events in 2020.
