At a meeting between the deputy minister and key local leaders, Senior Colonel Le Viet Thang, Director of the Bac Lieu Provincial Police Department, briefed the Deputy Minister on work results of the provincial police in the first quarter of 2022.
According to him, the police forces of Bac Lieu cleared 63 cases of criminal offenses, 36 drug-related cases, 58 economic cases and 140 cases of environmental law violations as well as fined VND 1 billion in totalMeanwhile, the police handled 262 cases of social problems with 884 people involved.
Moreover, the Bac Lieu Provincial Police Department advised the Provincial People's Committee to establish a working group responsible for directing the implementation of the Government's Project 06 on the application of population data, e-identification and digital authentication to national digital transformation in the 2022-2025 period with a vision toward 2030 in the province. The Director of the Provincial Police Department is the standing deputy head of the working group.
In the first quarter, police forces of Bac Lieu province applied various methods, including using mobile loudspeakers and distributing leaflets, to warn local people against criminal tricks as well as mobilize people to hand over illegally-possessed weaponry. So far, the police have seized 15 military guns, 36 homemade guns, 23 combat gears, 79 rudimentary weapons, and 467 bullets of all kinds.
Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung asked the police in Bac Lieu to make more efforts to successfully fulfill their assignments in the coming time, closely follow directions of their leaders and local authorities, continue to safeguard national security, social order and safety as well as advise the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee on approaches to flexibly adapt to the COVID-19 in the new situation.
On this occasion, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung and his entourage offered incense at the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House and planted trees in the headquarters of the Bac Lieu Provincial Police Department.
*On the same day, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung visited a club of Khmer ethnic people protecting local security in Hung Hoi commune, Vinh Loi district, Bac Lieu province.
The club was established in 2014 with 25 members.
Over the past 8 years, members of the club have actively join the local authorities and police while mobilizing local people to maintain security and social order, making Hung Hoi commune a good example in the movement “All people protect national security” in Bac Lieu province
