Bac Lieu Provincial Police launches Task Force Police Unit

The Bac Lieu Provincial Police, on March 12, hosted a ceremony to launch a task force police unit for patrolling on key routes and preventing violations and crimes (also called  Police Unit 238).

From the requirements for further ensuring security and social order in Bac Lieu province, the Director of the Bac Lieu Provincial Police Department, on February 18, issued a plan to establish a task force police unit for patrolling and preventing violations and crimes in the locality. 

Under the plan, Police Unit 238 has two levels: provincial level and district level. The former includes 02 working teams, consisting of criminal police, economic police, drug-related crime investigation police, environmental police, social order police, traffic police, waterway police and mobile police. Meanwhile, each district would form a working team comprising component forces, suitable for the actual situation of each locality.

Unit 238 is assigned to conduct patrols along the road, set up checkpoints at hot spots, promptly detect and prevent suspects involved in possession of rudimentary weapons, traffic safety violations, illegal motor racing and public order disturbance.

At the same time, the unit will closely coordinate with local authorities to promptly handle security issues and disseminate laws and regulations to the people, contributing to effectively preventing crimes and other law violations, and ensuring peace and happiness for the people and visitors to Bac Lieu province.

Senior Colonel Le Tan Toi, Director of the Bac Lieu Provincial Police Department, urged all police agencies and units in the province to well direct the operation of Unit 238, considering this as one of the key tasks of the Bac Lieu Provincial Police in 2019, while regularly inspecting and reviewing outcomes of the operation of the unit to promote its strength and overcome its difficulties. Unit 238 will become one of the core forces in the prevention and combat against crimes and law violations.
