The Hanoi Municipal Police Department held a conference to summarize the local police’s work in 2023 and roll out the work program for 2024, on the morning of January 2, 2024. General To Lam, Politburo member, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security attended the event.
Reports read that, the local police force has thoroughly grasped the order and security situation in the city, actively advised the Hanoi Municial Party Committee and People's Committee on solutions to all situational developments while proactively and effectively ensuring security and order, and addressing issues emerging in the city.
Specially, the local police have firmly protected national security, contributing to maintaining political and social stability, and avoiding being put in a strategic surprise and disadvantage.
Over the past year, the local police have investigated and cleared 5,052 cases of violating public order and security, involving 10,017 suspects, and resolved 90.7% of citizens’ denunciations and crime reports, and protected safety and security of national-level agencies, projects and premises.
Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Minister To Lam congratulated the Party Committee, government and people of Hanoi City on their great achievements in socio-economic development in 2023.
Minister To Lam also hailed the good results of work of the local police, and showed his consensus on their work plan for 2024.
He also suggested that the capital police should attach much importance to safeguarding national security and always taking the initiative in any situation while ensuring order and security, and preventing and controlling crime so as to build drug-free and crime-free communes and wards in the city.
At the event, under the authority of the State President, Minister To Lam awarded the Third Class “Victory” Medal to Deputy Director of Hanoi Municipal Police Department Senior Colonel Pham Thanh Hung and two other police officers.
Authorized by the Prime Minister, Minister To Lam presented the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to Deputy Director of Hanoi Municipal Police Department Senior Colonel Nguyen Thanh Long.
