Conference reviewing task performance of Public Security Forces in first half concludes

A conference hosted by the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) to review the performance of tasks of the Public Security Forces in the past 6 months wrapped up on the afternoon of June 25.

The event saw the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and senior officials from various agencies of the Party Central Committee, National Assembly and Government, as well as representatives from ministries and authorities of provinces and municipalities.

General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, chaired the conference.

On the morning of the same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc delivered keynote speech at the event and delegates discussed various issues related to operations of the Public Security Forces.

In the afternoon, Major General, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To presided over a discussion session. During the session, delegates discussed the outcomes of crime prevention and combat, maintenance of public order, security and traffic safety, logistic supply and technical services for operations of the Public Security Forces as well as ideological and political education, and force building, in the past six months.

Speaking at the closing session, Minister To Lam recognized and appreciated the efforts and achievements made by the entire Public Security Forces in the first half.

He asked public security agencies and units at all levels to closely follow and successfully realize the working plans set for 2020 as well as seriously implement assignments given by the Prime Minister at the conference.

The Minister urged all security agencies and units to actively grasp the situation and precisely predict next situational developments to advise the Party and the State to issue policies and approaches to firmly protect national sovereignty, interests and security, creating a peaceful, stable and favorable environment for national socio-economic development.

Minister To Lam also asked all security agencies and units to improve the efficiency and quality of their basic professional tactics, while effectively handling denunciations, complaints and crime reports, and destroying criminal gangs.

He requested relevant agencies and provincial-level police departments to further reinforce the commune-level police force.

In the buildup to the 75th Traditional Day of the Public Security Forces and 15th anniversary of the movement of “All people protecting national security”, Minister To Lam urged all security agencies and units to organize practical activities in celebration of the events.
