Conference reviews PSF’s task performances in April 2022

Minister of Public Security General To Lam chaired a monthly conference of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on April 25 in Hanoi to review work results of the Public Security Forces (PSF) in April 2022 and roll out work plans for the forces in May.

Reports read that the PSF ensured security and social order during the Hung King's death anniversary and other significant events of the country in the month as well as deployed plans to safeguard the 31st SEA Games, which will take place across Vietnam in May 2022.

In the fight against crimes, police forces nationwide paid special attention to maintaining information security and safety for cyberspace and social networks, denying insecure situations and public confusions. 

Meanwhile, they also solved large-scaled criminal cases regarding stock manipulation, real estate market, and gasoline smuggling. The forces’ efforts were widely recognized by the public.

Particularly, the police stamped out various cross-border drug trafficking rings and organized criminal gangs in April as well as attacked human trafficking, property fraud, and illegal gambling.

Regarding digital transformation, relevant agencies under the MPS well performed their assigned tasks under the Government’s Project 06. Accordingly, they completed and provided 187 online public services of levels 3 and 4 on the MPS Public Service Portal. So far 8 out of the 11 essential public services have been available at the National Public Service Portal.

In recognition of their achievements in the month, 11,672 teams and officers of the PSF were awarded by authorities at all levels.

During the discussion session of the conference, under the chair of Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc, leaders of under-ministerial agencies and provincial-level police departments discussed issues related to the current crime situation and major past cases, especially those related to petrol and oil smuggling, violations in the fields of securities and real estate.

Delegates also proposed solutions to ensure the implementation progress of three essential public services, including issuance of ordinary passports, motorcycle registration at the commune-level police post, and online registration of high school graduation exams.

To conclude the conference, on behalf of the MPS leadership, Minister To Lam praised the achievements and efforts made by the PSF over the past time.

Regarding the forces’ key tasks in May 2022, Minister To Lam asked the PSF to attach importance to ensuring security for the 47th National Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1) as well as the 31st SEA Games, the 5th Plenum of the 13th-tenure Party Central Committee, and the 3rd session of the 15th-tenure National Assembly.

Moreover, the PSF should strengthen cyber security and pay due attention to preventing sabotage activities by hostile forces in cyberspace while speeding up the investigation of criminal cases in line with the direction of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Wrongdoings.

Police forces nationwide should continue to fight crimes, especially robbery, theft, pocketing, and fraud at tourist destinations, resorts, festivals, and on key traffic routes as well as violations of the laws on environment, food safety, Minister Lam stressed.

He added that the police should resolutely combat organized crime, "black credit", murder, human trafficking, gambling, and fraud while further expanding the investigation into petroleum smuggling, securities and real estate violations.

The Minister also emphasized the need to continue anti-pandemic measures at public security agencies and local police units.
